Sometimes it is ifficult for a fresher or for an ordinary man to calculate the actual volume of a full loaded truck. But practically it is a very easy task. Let us show you the easy way, with the help of some images.

First of all you need a measuring tape like this

Then with the help of a labour or your Colleague you have to take some measurements . please keep in mind that all measurements that you are going to take ,you have to take them from the inside of the truck not from the outside. Note all measurements in a note book properly

with their proper attributions.

As shown in this picture, let's say the length of the truck is 24 feet and 10 inches. Then measure the width like the same way again. Let's say the width of the truck is 7 feet and 5 inches.

Now the question arises that " How will I measure the height of the goods? "

Simply take a measuring rod and implant that in the goods with the help of your labour , mark it and with a measuring tape just measure the marked place .Or you can measure the gap between the goods and the full height of the body of the truck. look at the picture for better understanding.

In this picture you have shown the inside view of the truck with stone chips loaded .Now you have to measure the gap and let the truck to unload.After being unloaded measure the full body height of the truck. See the picture :-

Let's say that you get the height 6 feet and 5 inches as in the picture.

Now the calculation begins :

we got ,

Length = 24 feet 10 inch

Width = 7 feet 5 inch

Height = 6 feet 5 inch

Gap = 10 inch

Convert either the feet into inches or the inches into feet

Condition 1: Feet into inches

multiply all feet numbers with 12 and add them with inches

Length = (24*12) = 288 + 10 = 298 inch

Width = (7 *12)= 84 + 5 = 89 inch

Height = (6 *12) = 72 + 5 = 77 inch

Gap = 10 inch

then subtract the gap height from the total body height

Height = (77 - 10) = 67 inch

Now apply the formula :

(l*w*h) / 12*12*12

(298*89*67)/12*12*12 = 1028.34 cft

Condition 2: Inches into feet

Divide all inch numbers with 12 and write them after point .

Length = (10 inch / 12) = 0.83 ( therefore length will be = 24.83 feet)

Width = (5 inch / 12) = 0.41 ( therefore width will be = 7.41 feet)

Height = (5 inch / 12) = 0.41 (therefore height will be = 6.41 feet)

Gap = (10 inch / 12) = 0.83 (therefore gap will be = 0.83 feet)

Then subtract the gap height from the total body height

Height = (6.41 - 0.83) = 5.58 feet

Now apply the formula

(l*w*h)

(24.83*7.41*5.58) = 1026.66 cft

Note : If you apply both the formulas then the results may differ in minor cft .

Apply formula according to your choice.
